I can’t say it enough. I love photographing weddings for the couples. Their love. Their kindness. Their grace. Their generosity. Their awesome personalities. Their happiness.

Elke and Jay are the epitome of this.

Sure, the Rifle Paper Co. details do not hurt. Neither does Elke’s gorgeous emerald engagement ring, her sophisticated Ivy and Aster wedding gown, the gorgeous florals by Laura Clare Design, or the rainbow over the Manhattan skyline during cocktail hour. All of these things are beautiful, yes. But take those away, and it’s their love that still makes this wedding one of my favorites. It’s the smile Elke beamed as she was escorted down the aisle to marry Jay. The laughter as they danced to “Under the Boardwalk” after becoming husband and wife. And the amazingly heartfelt and funny toasts that Elke’s dad, her sister, and Jay’s brother gave at the reception (Jay’s brother had the entire room crying from laughing so hard – no exaggeration. He wins best “Best Man” speech in my book)!

Elke is the kind of girl you immediately develop a girl crush on after meeting, and Jay is the perfect gentleman who is a mixture of super funny and laid back. They are the type of people you want to linger over cocktails with on a sunny day. So it’s no surprise that their wedding day was full of laughter, fun, and had all of their friends and family showering them with love, surrounding them with smiles and celebrating the amazing couple they are. They bring out the best in people, because they are two of the best, and I could not be more thankful to have been a part of their wedding day. Even at 36 weeks pregnant, it was just so much fun! I could go on and on about all the thoughtful details Elke and Jay planned for their guests – Pretty Plum Sugar PJ’s for the bridesmaids, an awesome band (Chris Daniels and the Proof) to dance the night away to – but I will let the pictures of these two gorgeous people do the talking. Enjoy!

I wanted the best team possible for Elke and Jay for their day, and that is exactly what they got with you two! Y’all are my girls and I thank you. A big X and O to you both!
